- What is Gastro Trails?
- Gastro Trails helps you turn food and travel discoveries into a personalised trip. We bring together restaurants, stays, vineyards, producers and local experiences, then suggest a trail based on your preferences and trip details.
Our catalogue draws on personal experience, recommendations from trusted contacts and research.
- Where can I plan a trip?
- Gastro Trails currently covers the UK, Ireland and Greece. The number and variety of establishments available vary by destination.
- Can I try Gastro Trails for free?
- Yes. When you register, you receive two free customisable trails.
You can explore the planning experience and change your stops before deciding whether to buy credits.
- What can I browse without registering?
- Visitors can browse a public selection representing approximately 10% of our catalogue. Establishments’ website and Instagram links are not available to unregistered visitors.
- What is the difference between a simple and a customisable trail?
- Both are generated around your preferences, destination and trip duration.
A simple trail costs 2 credits and provides a fixed itinerary. You cannot change its stops after generation.
A customisable trail costs 4 credits and lets you add or remove stops, replace your selections and move stops between dates. These changes are included in the original credit cost.
- How much can I change a customisable trail?
- You can change as many stops as you like—even replace them all—and move selections between dates within your original trip duration.
The destination and trip duration remain fixed. To change either, you need to create a new trail.
- Which preferences can I set?
- You can specify the number of stops per day, the maximum driving distance per day, your preferred times for meals and experiences, your group size, your budget, and any special occasion.
Gastro Trails uses these details to suggest options that suit the trip you want to take.
- How long can my trip be?
- There is no fixed limit on trip duration. Trails can include up to five stops per day.
Note: coverage varies by destination, so longer trips may not have enough suitable establishments to fill every day with options that match your preferences.
